Data General plug and play WiFi packs are the most straightforward way to bring professional-grade connectivity to any space: plug in, switch on and it works. No complex configuration, no technical expertise required, no waiting. Each pack includes the controller, the access points and the necessary cabling, factory pre-configured with three independent WiFi networks ready to use from the very first moment.
The Data General catalogue is organised into three families according to WiFi technology generation:
The Air family incorporates the WiFi 6 (802.11ax) standard, the most widely deployed wireless technology in current professional installations. It delivers greater capacity, lower latency and better performance in high-device-density environments. Air packs are available in indoor (Signal), outdoor industrial (Extreme) and high-ceiling industrial (Beam) versions.
The Wave family, available from Q3 2025, incorporates the WiFi 7 (802.11be) standard. With Multi-Link Operation (MLO), 320 MHz channels and theoretical throughput exceeding 9 Gbps, Wave is designed for environments demanding maximum wireless performance: server rooms, production studios, healthcare facilities or any installation where latency and bandwidth are critical.
Nexus is the Data General high-density professional family. Designed for large-scale projects — shopping centres, university campuses, hotels, hospitals, airports — where centralised management of hundreds of access points, seamless roaming and integration with security and automation systems are required.
Data General also offers the network infrastructure needed for access points to perform at their best. PoE Ethernet switches eliminate the need for separate electrical wiring to each AP. AP controllers centralise management and enable transparent roaming between devices. Gateways integrate router, firewall and controller functions in a single unit, simplifying network architecture.
For installations requiring high-speed connections between switches and servers, the catalogue includes SFP/SFP+/QSFP28 transceivers and AOC and DAC fibre optic cables, compatible with the leading manufacturers on the market.
All Data General products are managed from the WIS (Wireless Intelligence System) platform, accessible from any browser at wis.datageneral.cloud. WIS enables real-time monitoring of the entire network, management of multiple installations from a single account, configuration of WiFi networks, VLANs and access policies, and automatic alerts for any incident — without installing software or physical access to the equipment.
